about

Tape Loops of Varied Length Vol.01 is more than an album, it’s a learning process. I believe that the only way you can master a technique, it’s by doing it over and over again. For this to work, I decided to release an album every 135 days. Having a public deadline like this makes it hard for me to ignore my goals and I can continue producing music consistently.

Every track on this album was produced with 4 walkmans playing loops of different length, mostly between 4 and 10 seconds. There was also a Tascam 4 track playing longer loops, from 10 to 120 seconds. And to add a little more depth to it, there are some songs where a Micro Granny was used for samples and a Korg Caos Pad for some effects.

Something new will come in 135 days.

muqdisho Berlin, Germany

MUQDISHO is harsh. But it is without aggression. It is bleak, but it is without fear. With it, Tofani yields the desire for relatability in favor of a faithful portrait of what it feels like to allow oneself to just free-fall into existence.

In somewhat direct & press-oriented words, MUQDISHO is the bleak, noisy, ambient head of a sound spear solely wielded by Felipe Tofani.
